Excuse our mess! The Murphy Theatre, like so many things in today’s world, is in a state of change or transformation. And while many things are uncertain, we are confident that we will come back stronger than ever! In addition to the regular maintenance required for such an amazing gem, we are preparing, planning and improving for 2021.

November marks the START of our 2021 Membership Campaign: STRONGER WITH YOU. It’s no secret that the arts are hurting. We at the Murphy share many of the struggles of our neighboring theatre’s, cultural institutions and live performance venues. From now until December 31, we hope that you will consider supporting YOUR Community theatre by becoming a member.

The Murphy Theatre is a 501©3 organization. Because it cannot earn its entire annual operating budget through ticket sales, it relies on tax-deductible donations to balance the budget. 100% of your membership will go to support the annual operations of The Murphy Theatre.

CHANGE! Not one of our favorite words, unless it means MORE! So, what is changing at the Murphy Theatre? First of all, WELCOME TO OUR NEW BLOG! We hope this will be a place to share announcements, fun stories and lots of stuff in-between. Please check this site frequently as we open up this platform for our community partners, staff and our beloved patrons.

We are excited to announce our NEW Members ONLY loyalty card; enjoy special, Members-Only events, discounts and promotions throughout the entire year. As a THANK YOU to our returning members, your membership level choice for the 2021 season will be upgraded to the next level if you renew by December 31, 2020.

In the coming weeks, we hope that you will follow along as we introduce; innovative shows and events from our programming committee, safety upgrades made possible by the Bourgraf Family Foundation and the unveiling of our new concessions area. We have a lot to be excited about and can’t wait to share all of the details with you. In the meantime, please feel free to contact us with any questions, concerns or ideas. We are nothing without our community and we vow to engage, listen, and put in place first the needs of the people that we serve. You. All of you.

The arts offer a universal language. A chance to connect with people regardless of our different social, political, or cultural differences. The community we wish to foster involves a place where we not only bring our differences but celebrate those differences as a collective whole. Through art.

When we open our doors again, we hope you will be reminded why our historic Murphy Theatre has stood the test of time, and why we have no intentions of slowing down any time soon! Please follow us on Facebook for the most recent news and announcements.
